Any Day Now by Martia Dimmer

10 - 11 December 2023

Any Day Now is a poignant and comedic one-person show exploring Thanatophobia (fear of dying) and how we treat people with terminal illnesses in society. Girl is on a quest to overcome her own fear of dying and leave behind a legacy in the process. She decides to spend her morning at her cousin’s Death Cafe, where she meets Kevin, Frankie, and Michael, who are dealing with a terminal diagnosis, loss, or both. Through the relationships she builds, she finds humor, humility, and empathy when faced with her greatest fear and embraces her shared humanity with those facing a shortened life.

Any Day Now is written and performed by Martia Dimmer. Martia is a performer and writer from London who graduated from the MA Acting program at Mountview in 2021. Since graduating she has done several short films, worked at the Vaults Festival, and a summer season of Shakespeare! This is her debut play and first solo project, and she can’t wait to watch it grow and develop on its journey to the Edinburgh Fringe 2024.
