Stus Fest
An evening dedicated to Vasyl Stus in support of Ukrainian culture

An evening dedicated to Vasyl Stus (1938 - 1985), one of the most prominent Ukrainian poets, a dissident, allegedly killed by the Soviets. This event is part of an international festival dedicated to the life and poetry of Vasyl Stus. Initiated by three theatres from Ukraine: DSP Theatre (https://dsptheatre.com.ua), ProEnglish Theatre of Ukraine (https://proenglishtheatre.com), and Theatre of War Action (https://www.facebook.com/theatreofwar.action)

We will start with a short film about the life of Vasyl Stus (Ukrainian with English subtitles) , followed by readings of his poems (translated in English) and talks about Ukrainian culture and the current situation in Ukraine.

This year the figure of Vasyl Stus and his poetry will make a breakthrough in all the world. There are 50 Stus Fest events in different countries of the world. 13 cities are hosting Stus events (Kyiv, Dnipro, London, Ankara, Chernivtsi, Charlotte, Alicante, Warsaw, Edmonton, Dublin with more to join). 20 contries are planned to take part in Stus Fest 2025, and the festival is going to engage ALL SEVEN CONTINENTS, as The Ukrainian Antarctic Akademik Vernadsky station will also take part.

All profits from the evening will be donated to Pro English Theatre Kyiv.

All ticket sales are non-refundable.
