Meet Spanish and English—two vibrant, exaggerated caricatures struggling to coexist. One wants to cook, to flow with life; the other insists on following plans and schedules. Will either of them accomplish their mission?
Chop-Chop! dives into the clash between toxic productivity and procrastination through energetic physical comedy, sharp wit, and playful storytelling. In this eclectic one-woman Spanglish show, bilingual performer Andrea Holland brings these opposing forces to life:

At its heart, Chop-Chop! is an ode to food and connection, a riot of wit and flavour. It celebrates the beautiful mess of bilingual minds, exploring the paradoxes within us that shape who we are. With satire and humour, the show embraces cultural stereotypes to highlight the conflict between two sides of the same identity, drawing from the performer’s personal experience.
Absurd, ridiculous, and laugh-out-loud funny, Chop-chop! holds up a mirror where we can see our own contradictions and laugh at them.

Andrea Holland
Andrea is a London-based Spanglish performer, theatre-maker, facilitator and voice-over artist. Born and bred in Spain to a Spanish mother and an English father. She graduated from the Asturias School of Performing Arts (Spain) with a BA Hons in Acting. She also trained at ESAP Porto (Portugal) in Acting and Directing and holds a BA in English Studies and Communications from the University of Oviedo (Spain). With a strong inclination towards Physical Theatre and devising, she participated in the Physical Theatre and Performance: Mask and Myth, the Poetic Body and Ensemble Storytelling course at LISPA (arthaus.berlin) in 2018, and took part in Gecko Theatre's first-ever Artistic Professional Residency in 2019.
Throughout her career, she has performed extensively in Spain, Portugal, and the UK. As a founding member of Volpe Theatre, she premiered Hyena in Italy and at VAULT Festival 2023.
Her work, rooted in devised comedy with a feminist lens, explores themes of belonging and identity, aiming to provoke thought and laughter simultaneously while fostering connection through humour.

Giovanna Koyama
Giovanna Koyama is a Brazilian Theatre-maker, Director & Performer who graduated from the StoneCrabs Directors in Practice program in London. Her recent directing credits include 'How British Eres Tu?' by Victor Rios, part of the Housemates festival at Brixton House Theatre, and 'Chop-chop' by Andrea Holland, which will be featured in the VOILA festival this November. She also directed the rehearsed reading 'On the Other Side of the Sea', part of the Out of the Wings Festival 2024 festival at the Omnibus Theatre. Her standout project, 'BACK TO THE MOON', written and performed by her, premiered last year at the Camden Fringe 2023. The central themes of the piece are migration and belonging, topics she has been researching and exploring for the past two years.
“Chop-chop!” marks another collaboration between Koyama and Holland, who co-created the short film “Mulheres Que Sangran”, which was nominated for Best Film by a Female Director at the Thessaloniki Free Short Festival, and the play “Queendom”, which debuted at Camden Fringe in 2023.

Helena Benot
Helena Benot is a Spanish director, actress, and tech manager. She studied alongside Andrea Holland at the Drama School of Asturias, Spain. During her final project, she fully immersed herself in theatre directing, integrating lighting, set design, and the expressive power of movement as essential narrative elements—quickly realising this was her true passion.
She later settled in Barcelona and co-founded Systeria Teatre, a female-led theatre company dedicated to rescuing the stories of women forgotten by history. Helena is passionate about stage lighting and its poetic role in storytelling, embracing the actor’s craft as part of a larger choreographed whole. Her work skilfully combines artistic vision with technical precision to create immersive theatrical experiences.
She is now excited to bring this creative synergy to London alongside Andrea, blending light, physicality, and performance into a shared artistic vision.

Fernanda Pedroso
Fernanda Pedroso is a Brazilian actor, singer and director. She graduated from East15 Acting School in 2022. She has recently started producing and was very excited to come on board as an Assistant Producer for Chop-Chop! She has also produced ‘Every Woman Has a Story’, an original play by Atomic Donkey Theatre company.
