The Importance of Being Earnest
by Oscar Wilde

20 July 2025, 7 pm

Persever Productions brings a new rehearsed reading to the Barons Court Theatre. With their “Persever Emerging Artists” initiative they bring Lidia Cieniewska into the fold and together they tackle Oscar Wilde’s most famous play. Whether you know all about the convoluted love story or it’s your first time watching the trials and tribulations of its participants, you are cordially invited to join Persever Productions for an evening of summertime theatre.

Mr Worthing is in love with Gwendolen. Mr Worthing isn’t who he claims he is. Mr Moncrieff finds it all incredibly amusing.

In the canon of Oscar Wilde plays, “The Importance of Being Earnest” stands as the most recognisable title. Adapted countless times, it has captivated audiences with its cheeky humour, witty dialogue and snarky critique of the Victorian high society. Wilde’s signature writing style shines as we follow a story about love and its peculiarities. Filled to the brim with joy, jokes and (relatively) proper manners, “The Importance of Being Earnest” is a play that can’t help but put a smile on your face.
